ENERGY POLICY ANALYST

Gaelectric, a privately held group established in 2004, is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy and energy storage projects in Ireland, the United Kingdom and North America with offices in Dublin, Belfast and Chicago.
Our markets team is responsible for all market aspects of Gaelectric’s portfolio. Key activities include: commercial contract negotiation and structuring, trading and revenue optimization, regulatory affairs and market modelling.
We are seeking to grow our team through the addition of an experienced, solution focused Energy Analyst with proven ability to carry out analysis within the regulatory / policy framework principles across both Ireland and the UK. .
Location: Dublin
Salary: Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience

ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
COMMERCIAL ANALYSIS
• Assist in the commercial development of a range of asset classes including wind, biomass and energy storage
• Preparing regular update reports in the area of markets, regulatory and commercial developments.
• Provide commercial assistance for business line proposals, primarily wind & storage projects.
• Providing analytical support to strategic activities such as business development, divestments, third –party contracts

MARKET INFORMATION DISSEMINATION
• SEM & ISEM, BETTA: Manage market consultations, disseminated and short synopsis of these to be reported or discussed at team meetings, prepare response.
• Other involvement will be generally keeping on top of market information.
• UK/Europe: Market Monitoring of EU marketplace (3rd Energy Package) and potential future Markets for development.
• Attendance of Seminars and conferences where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 2-3 years energy market experience ideally in a commercial/regulatory role with emphasis on
-  Strong commercial acumen who works well in a small highly skilled team.
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Word).
• Comfortable working across multiple projects with tight deadlines and varying asset classes, wind, storage, etc.
• Business or Engineering Degree.

This role has the potential for relatively quick and substantial career progression pending performance of the ultimate employee. As Gaelectric moves into more markets and the list of projects that need commercialization becomes longer, this employee should be given the opportunity to take on more responsibility at the appropriate juncture.
