Accounts Payable (Location: Dublin)

Salary: Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent role subject to probation
Reports to: Group Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weekly input of purchase invoices
  • Assisting with the statutory audit process
  • Monthly analysis of costings to ensure the accuracy of purchase invoice entries/journals etc
  • Creditor reconciliation including following up on statements from Suppliers and cash collection from debtors
  • Weekly Bank Reconciliations
  • Processing intercompany invoices & non-PO related invoices check signatures to matrix to ensure accurate coding & approval for payment.
  • Prepare monthly, weekly multi-currency multi-country payment runs
  • Assist in the development of the accounts payable processes
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly / quarterly financial management accounts
  • Prepare Prepayments List and Review Accruals List on Monthly Basis for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure all VAT receivables are received on a timely basis and payments to Tax authorities are made without delay or penalty
  • Submission of Intrastat Returns, VAT returns and EC Sales listing's for multiple ROI/UK VAT registrations
  • Manage RCT/CIS compliance obligations of clients within the construction industry
  • Liaising with Revenue or HMRC on behalf of ROI or UK Group Companies

The Person:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a key player in a strategically important sector. The role will suit an ambitious, self starter with a proven track record of success. The successful candidate will be a part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and educated to degree level.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous high volume Accounts Payable experience is essential
  • The ability to work to a high level of accuracy in a high volume and high value environment with tight deadlines
  • Part Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA is highly desired
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills are required
  • Excellent numerical and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Strong competence in MS Word, MS Excel
  • Strong time management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience in dealing with VAT claims

Project Engineer – Operations & Maintenance (Location: Belfast)

Gaelectric, a privately held group established in 2004, is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy and energy storage projects in Ireland, the United Kingdom and North America with offices in Dublin, Belfast and Chicago.

Our Technical Team is responsible for all Renewable Energy technical aspects being undertaken by Gaelectric. Key activities include wind farm design, feasibility studies, land acquisition, site selection/evaluation, due diligence, grid feasibility studies and increasingly operations and maintenance services. Currently Gaelectric have an operational portfolio comprising 18.4MW, over 2 sites. By then end of 2014, this will increase to 66.4MW over 4 sites and by the end of 2015, based on the current development plan; Gaelectric’s operational portfolio will stand at 148MW over 13 sites.

We are seeking to grow our team through the addition of an enthusiastic, multi-skilled O&M Project Engineer who will contribute to the continuing growth and success of the team.

The Individual Profile

  • BSc or equivalent in a science or engineering discipline
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an Engineering or Programme Management environment
  • Ability to conduct scheduled site visits in a safe manner, accurately recording site conditions and respond appropriately to issues arising from accidental damage/wear and tear of infrastructure,
  • Ability to coordinate remedial/technical work conducted by 3rd party contractors (from initial contact/quotation to completion)
  • Ability to advise and communicate clearly to numerous stakeholders including landowners (both internal and external) on technical, operational and health and safety issues
  • Knowledge of and experience in handling large volumes of data via SQL databases and other techniques
  • Numerate with an ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of raw performance data using Excel, Access. (experience on other programs such as MATLAB would be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of and experience in writing and adhering to standard operating procedures and method statements
  • Knowledge of programming in VB and VBA to automate data flow/Information reports in Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Explorer
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet pressure deadlines
  • Project Management knowledge and skills as well as experience regarding project management and realization
  • Excellent team player, goal-orientated, dynamic and entrepreneurial in nature, with the skill to motivate others successfully
  • Regular travel will be required to all Gaelectric wind farm sites in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (a full clean driving license)

Along with the core attributes above, knowledge of or experience in the following would be a distinct advantage.

  • Knowledge of industrial Health and Safety law
  • Experience in supporting anemometry (both cup and remote sensoring technologies)
  • Experience and/or knowledge in the field of noise monitoring, interpretation and mitigation

Corporate Finance Executive (Location: Dublin)

Our corporate finance team is responsible for all fundraising activities being undertaken by Gaelectric as well as having responsibility for the development and implementation of a strategic financing plan. In addition, our corporate finance team supports all major commercial initiatives being undertaken by Gaelectric and assists in delivering on our financial reporting obligations to our funding partners.

The Job
We are seeking to grow our team through the addition of an experienced, solutions focussed, corporate finance/transaction specialist with a track record and proven ability in project managing corporate finance and/or project finance transactions through to completion.

The Individual
You will be commercially aware with a transaction execution ethos and an ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, and with strong analytical, project management and communication skills. You will have a deep understanding of the legal documents, commercial issues and financial models necessary to conclude corporate and project finance transactions in the renewable energy sector. You will be questioning, proactive and flexible, motivated by challenges and with high standards for the quality of outputs generated by you. You will be comfortable working in a fast moving environment that will be pressurized at times.
