CONSTRUCTION  PROJECT MANAGER

Our In-house Onshore WF Team is responsible for all aspects of the development process being undertaken by Gaelectric. We are seeking to grow our team through the addition of an experienced, solution focused, Construction Project Manager specialist with a track record of delivering construction projects and proven ability to co-ordinate and manage the process within the regulatory framework principles across both Ireland and Northern Ireland for wind energy.

The successful candidate would be expected to:
- Have a minimum 10 years’ experience of managing civil/electrical engineering projects, with 3 years minimum spent in the wind industry
- Have a third level qualification in preferably Civil engineering or if not electrical engineering
- Manage medium to large scale construction projects from inception to completion across Northern Ireland and Ireland;
- Experience in construction contracts and banking requirements for construction   projects
- Travel will be required to all Gaelectric wind farm sites in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (a full clean driving license and own vehicle required).
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Project excel and MS Office Suite with experience of AutoCAD desirable
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work independently towards challenging targets;
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet pressure deadlines;
- Strong communicative and interpersonal skills; with the ability to report in a precise manor to the management on job proposals issued, current projects, upcoming deadlines;
- Excellent team player, goal-orientated, dynamic and entrepreneurial in nature, with the skill to motivate others successfully;

The key responsibilities associated with the role will include:
- Project manage assigned construction projects, once planning and/or grid connection has been achieved.
- Review all permits associated with the site (planning permission conditions, timelines, grid connect etc).
- Establish a project plan for each project to ensure that key tasks and milestones are identified, interdependencies are managed and that issues are highlighted in advance.
- Work with consulting engineer on: Pre-tender, Tender and Construction stage
- Formalise and finalise the tender package including planning conditions of the site, the turbine technical requirements, the contract of agreement
- Once selected, maintain an ongoing control of spend / expense to budget target
- Visit site regularly while construction is taking place (with consulting engineer) and review progress to plan with site engineer
- Ensure that all proper documentation is completed for each site, and sent to the appropriate authorities.
- Drive the commissioning of site to the agreed specifications.
- Identify global and best fit turbine manufacturers for Gaelectric and track all turbine manufacturing capability
- Develop a professional relationship and engage landowner in the start-up process (drawings, work schedules / timing, site access, payment schedules)
- Ensure there are no surprises during the construction process / project
- Assist and comply with the Health and Safety requirements of Gaelectric
- Work closely with the finance office on tendering and cost controls / models
- Attend regular management and operations meetings and present construction projects as needed to teams.
- Maintain a high degree of teamwork amongst colleagues

WINDFARM PROJECT PLANNER

Our In-house Planning Team is responsible for all aspects of the planning process being undertaken by Gaelectric. We are seeking to grow our team through the addition of an experienced, solution focused, EIA / planning specialist with a track record of obtaining planning permission and proven ability to co-ordinate and manage the EIA process within the regulatory framework principles across both Ireland and Northern Ireland for wind energy.

The successful candidate would be expected to:
- Have a minimum of five years post-graduate planning experience in EIA co-ordination and delivery;
- Manage medium to large scale planning projects from inception to completion across Northern Ireland and Ireland;
- Work within and co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary EIA team to deliver project requirements;
- Have a third level qualification and an excellent working knowledge of the Irish and Northern Irish Planning System, and the interaction of relevant planning and environmental legislation;
- Have an in-depth knowledge of a broad range of environmental issues, fundamental to the preparation of high-quality planning inputs on EIS and Environmental projects,
- Experience in delivery of Planning Compliance; Planning experience in Onshore wind desirable;

The key responsibilities associated with the role will include:
- Compiling environmental consultant reports for EIS inclusion;
- Delivering fit for purpose project outputs within set deadlines;
- Preparing, compiling and project managing planning projects from inception to completion including interaction with project stakeholders, clients and other project team members;
- Undertaking background research, desk studies, field visits and preparing planning assessments, reports and project planning inputs;
- Liaising with statutory and non-statutory consultees to progress projects effectively;
- Efficiently interface with landowners and managing interactions with project team members and sub-consultants;
- Project Management knowledge and skills as well as experience regarding project management and realisation of electrical infrastructure advantageous;
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work independently towards challenging targets;
