Ted Williams Joins Gaelectric North America as Head of Transmission

Gaelectric, a group of companies engaged in International renewable energy development and energy storage, has announced that Ted Williams has joined Gaelectric North America Inc. as Head of Transmission.
“Ted’s leadership in the transmission industry will further enhance our team as we work with utilities, rural electric cooperatives and federal power authorities to develop practical strategies to integrate and firm wind power,” says Van Jamison, Vice President of Gaelectric North America.
 
Williams is a recognized expert in electric transmission operations with more than 34 years of experience.  Prior to joining Gaelectric he worked in the energy industry as Director of Transmission Operations at NorthWestern Energy where he was responsible for   planning, engineering, construction, protection, operations and maintenance of 7,000 plus miles of high voltage transmission lines and related substations. He also served as President and Chairman of the Board for Grid West and was a representative on the Western Electricity Coordinating Council.
 
Ted holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Science from Montana Tech and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He currently serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for Montana Tech’s Electrical Engineering program and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.  In 2008 he was recognized as a Montana Tech Distinguished Alumni. 
 
Ted will have offices in Great Falls, Montana and Chicago, Illinois but will continue to make his home in Butte, Montana.
